Owner, Cortney Brummond, has spent her career advocating for systemic changes in the education sector to promote deeper understanding of how Communication develops, and the intricate link between language and learning.

Her primary focus has been on implementing preventative approaches for early reading and pro-social outcomes, while also applying research-based interventions to facilitate student growth across all domains.

Much of her work focused on designing authentic and meaningful inclusive approaches, ensuring all students are first seen as and fully included in their general classroom.

Her special education leadership experience supported teams in facilitation of Quality IEPs, by moving beyond a Compliant-only framework.

Further efforts in designing district procedures for implementation of effective Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) shaped the philosophies that currently drive Speak Out Services.

With expertise in the development of language, diagnostic skills in identifying root deficits, while embracing cultural enrichment, Speak Out Services believes that investing in communication is not only a necessity, but a ​human right for our communities, families, and children to live productive and enriching lives.
